City police are searching for a man who in seen beating and robbing an 81-year-old woman in her Manhattan apartment building on Friday.

"This is not exactly the 15 minutes of fame I was looking for," said Barbara Ann Davison, who has identified herself as the victim.

It happened just before 6:50 p.m. near West 13th St. and 7th Ave. in Greenwich Village, officials said.

Surveillance video seen above shows the man punching the woman several times in her head and face before she fell to the ground. He then stole her handbag and ran off.

Police said the woman suffered bumps and bruises to her head but refused medical help.

Davison said senior citizens have to be careful when traveling alone.

"This could've been 25 years ago; people were doing this, too, because we're an easy mark," she said. "I'm short, I'm elderly, I have a cane, and we just have to be more careful out there."
