NEW YORK - Investigators have identified a man found dead inside a Manhattan elevator shaft.
Officers discovered the body of 53-year-old Steven Simpson of Brooklyn between an elevator and its shaft Sunday morning.
It was at an apartment building located at 555 10th Avenue near 41st Street in Hell's Kitchen.
It is not clear how long he had been there.
Police believe he suffered from cardiac arrest but the medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
