Sunday marks two years since the deadly East Village gas explosion.

Two men were killed and 22 other people were injured in the blast.

Prosecutors say gas lines were tampered with, in a scheme to cut corners in order to keep tenants in newly renovated apartments.

The blast leveled three buildings and damaged several others on 7th Street and Second Avenue.

Five people face criminal charges.
