Police in Massachusetts have identified a person of interest in the death of a New York City woman last summer.

Investigators say 27-year old Vanessa Marcotte was visiting her family outside Boston, when she disappeared after going for a walk on August 7, 2016.

She worked for Google in Manhattan as an account manager.

Police found her body in the woods near her mother's home.

Investigators say they're looking for a man who his 30 years old, with an athletic build, and short hair.

The Massachusetts district attorney says his office created a profile by combining DNA info and information from witnesses.

"We wanna do everything we can to find this killer. You know, it takes a little while. This isn't 'CSI', it's not 'Law & Order', as much as we'd like to get things back in a couple hours, it takes some time. The information was recently received, and that's when we made the decision to come forward with this press conference," said Worcester County Attorney General Joseph Early Jr.

Investigators say the man would have had scratches on his face, neck, arms and hands.

They also say he was driving a dark-colored SUV.
