An Upper West Side pier damaged by Hurricane Sandy nearly four years ago is back open to the public.

The 79th Street Boat Basin A-Dock in Riverside Park was originally built in the 1930s.

The 370-foot pier has access to a kayak launch and a sailboat mooring field.

It will also be home to historic ships that dock at the marina.

Officials says before Sandy hit, the dock was Riverside Park's most popular pier for boaters and non-boaters.

The reconstruction cost about $6 million.
