Harry Potter fans are gearing up for the latest installment of the popular series.

Hundreds formed a "muggle mob" in front of Scholastic Books' headquarters to celebrate the upcoming release of "Harry Potter and The Cursed Child."

The new story is not a new novel. Scholastic is publishing the script of a new play currently in previews in London.

"It's being performed in two parts, but we're publishing one book that is the script for the play," said Ellie Berger of Scholastic. "And it's really the eighth story, the eighth Harry Potter story, which continues the characters we've all fallen in love with from the earlier books."

"I think it'll be interesting. I'm interested to see what that format's going to be like. But I'm still really excited," said one fan. "I mean, it's more Harry Potter. What more could you want?"

"I already have it pre-ordered. I'm ready for it. I'm ready for it," said another fan. "I will take anything Harry Potter-related they will give me."

"Harry Potter and The Cursed Child" picks up almost 20 years after the last novel and follows Potter's life with his children.

It hits bookshelves July 31.
