Law enforcement sources tell NY1 they are looking into whether rap artist Troy Ave accidentally shot himself and killed his bodyguard during a concert in Manhattan Wednesday night.

The 33-year-old from Brooklyn is charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. His real name is Roland Collins.

Police said security video shows him firing shots inside a green room at Irving Plaza.

It happened as hip-hop artist T.I. was getting ready to perform.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Junior, was not hurt.

Police say Troy Ave was shot in the leg.

A member of his security team, 33-year-old Ronald McPhatter, was killed in the shooting.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said he was hit once in the shoulder and once in his chest.

Sources said there is more surveillance video that shows McPhatter bleeding from his chest while running away from the chaos.

Police have found four matching shell casings, and are doing forensics to determine the origin of a fifth shell casing.

"Right now we're looking at video and talking to witnesses as we go forward," Boyce said. "We've collected a lot of physical evidence, so we're going forward with that as well, as far as ballistics. And going through video, identifying persons in the video that are seen, and reaching out to them and speaking with them."

Two other people were also shot, but they survived.

No gun has been found yet.

The investigation is ongoing.
