The man accused of killing 6-year-old Etan Patz in 1979 will be retried in September.

According to multiple reports, the judge in the case says the retrial for Pedro Hernandez will start right after Labor Day.

The first murder trial ended with a deadlocked jury last year.

Wednesday marks 37 years since Etan vanished while walking to his school bus stop in SoHo.

His body was never found.

Hernandez has confessed to killing the boy and dumping his body in the trash.

But his attorney says he is mentally ill and only fantasized about committing the crime.
