Mayor Bill de Blasio is set to finally take part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade this year.

The mayor has taken part in other parades like the Queens County march through the Rockaways.

But he has skipped the big parade the past two years because it excluded LGBT groups.

Now published reports say the mayor will first lead this year's parade up Fifth Avenue before going back and marching with the Lavender and Green Alliance.

This is the first year that group is being allowed to march.

One gay group from NBC Universal was allowed to participate for the first time last year.

The 255th St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off on Thursday, March 17.
