A city man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Manhattan's East River Park last week.

Police say 28-year-old Paul Niles turned himself in a day after being identified as the suspect.

They say Niles was riding a bike in East River Park Wednesday night when he approached a 26-year-old woman jogging near the FDR Drive and Cherry Street.

They say he motioned for her to keep quiet, then grabbed her hair as she tried to run away.

He then allegedly put his arm around her throat, pulled her into a nearby amphitheater and raped her.

Police say he also stole the victim's wallet.

Surveillance video shows him using her credit card at a deli later that night.

About an hour before the alleged rape, investigators say Niles approached a 56-year-old woman near FDR Drive and Grand Street.

Cops say he started talking to her, then grabbed her from behind before running away.

Niles is facing rape, robbery, identity theft and forcible touching charges.
