The Thanksgiving holiday didn't stopping some shoppers from getting an early go at Black Friday.

Macy's Herald Square opened its doors at 6 p.m., and the masses poured in immediately.

Crowds were weaving in and out of the display cases trying to score the perfect deal.

People NY1 spoke with say they had no problem coming out after their turkey dinner.

"I usually never do Black Friday at all because of possibilities of stampede and everything. So today, I kind of actually wanted to do something different and come out and check out some of the deals," said one shopper. "And this is actually the only store I'm going to."

Shopper: If I wasn't here, I'd do it in San Antonio.
Q: Is it weird to be out shopping on Thanksgiving?
Shopper: Never, never. The way it's been the last couple of years, Thanksgiving's the best night to do it.

The scene was mostly the same over at the flagship Toys R Us in Times Square, except with far more young shoppers joining the fray.
