A Manhattan jury on Monday ruled the families of two men killed in a crane collapse should get nearly $48 million in punitive damages.

Last week, the same jury ordered crane operator James Lomma and his companies to pay another $48 million in compensatory damages.

Donald Leo was operating the crane on the Upper East Side in 2008 when it collapsed.

He fell to his death.

Ramadan Kurtaj was crushed underneath.

Lawyers representing both of their families had said that Lomma allowed the crane to be put back into service after a poor repair.
