The National Parks Service says the Statue of Liberty will get a new LED lighting system in the coming week.
It will replace a temporary lighting system that was put in place after the old system was damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
The new system's expected to reduce energy consumption.
Similar systems are already in place at the Washington Monument and the White House.
The switch will turn on starting at sunset July 7.
