The New York Rangers will look to tie their playoff series Wednesday after dropping Game 3 to the Capitals in Washington.

The Capitals on Monday scored the only goal of the game midway through the second period.

Jay Beagle's pass from behind the net deflected off the skate of Rangers defenseman Keith Yandle to put Washington ahead.

The Rangers had some scoring chances down the stretch, but Caps goalie Braden Holtby stopped all 30 shots he faced.

Capitals win 1-0 and now lead the series 2-1.

Game 4 is in Washington tomorrow night.

The teams return to the Garden for Game 5 on Friday.
