Ben Bishop stopped all 22 shots he faced, and the Lighting got two third-period goals to win Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals 2-0 and eliminate the Rangers in 7 games.

The win prevents the Rangers from returning to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second straight season.

It was the second straight game at Madison Square Garden in which the Rangers were shut out by Tampa Bay. They lost by the same 2-0 score in Game 5.

It's also the first time the Blueshirts have ever lost a Game 7 at home.

After the first two periods were scoreless, Tampa Bay's Alex Killorn put the Lightning on the board less than two minutes into the third period.

Tampa's Ondrej Palat added an insurance marker with a little less than nine minutes to go in the third.

The Rangers pulled Lundqvist for an extra attacker with about 3:45 remaining in the third but could not get on the board.

Tampa Bay wins the series 4 games to 3. They will play the winner of the Western Conference Finals between the Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks. Game 7 of that series in in Anaheim Saturday night.
