Uber already made waves trying to compete with yellow cabs. Now, it's going head to head with your neighborhood food delivery people.

The company has launched UberEATS.

The service aims to deliver lunch in 10 minutes or less for a flat fee of $4.

"You open the app. If you're in the delivery zone, you'll see a little option for UberEATS. You push the button and that day's options show up. So for today it was a pastrami sandwich and a kale salad you pick how many of each you want you push a button and the delivery guy is on his way and he'll be to you in under ten minutes," says Josh Mohrer, general manager of Uber NYC.

"Well I'm hoping it will give us a new level of exposure. You know, its going to expose us to different people that don't necessarily know we're here," says Dave Pasternack, chef at Barchetta Restaurant in Chelsea.

This is Uber's first entry into the $70 billion food delivery business—where it's now competing with established apps like Seamless and GrubHub.

About a dozen restaurants are already working with UberEATS.

Right now it only covers between 14th and 40th streets in Manhattan, although it aims to expand.
