The "Big Gay Ice Cream Shop" in Manhattan is letting customers in on their secret recipes.

Owners say they owe their success to New Yorkers who appreciate the quirky so now they're releasing a cookbook, and hope it will inspire everyone to get creative.

The book, titled "The Yearbook of Ice Cream Accomplishments", sections off recipes by degrees of difficulty.

"So we started the cook book with things to do with vanilla ice cream and stuff to put on them. If people only get to one chapter we'll be proud of the book because a lot of people open the cookbook and don't do anything with it except look at the pictures. So it gets progressively more difficult. Freshman, sophomore, junior, senior that's why it looks like a year book. And then by senior year you're making your ice cream," said Big Gay Ice Cream Shop Co-owner Doug Quint.

If the book isn't already enough of a sweet surprise be sure to look for NY1's very own Roger Clark and his family in its freshman pages.

The owners will kick off a book tour Monday night at the Strand in the West Village.
