Hunter College honored a public safety worker Friday who was killed in last year's East Harlem explosion.

The college presented a plaque to the mother of Griselde Camacho.

The plaque will hang next to a picture of her.

"This picture shows the sunshine that Griselde brought into our lives, and today is a day to make sure we never forget what she did for Hunter College, and to keep her memory alive," said Hunter College President Jennifer Raab.

The Hunter community raised a little over $18,000 dollars for Camacho's family, and $3,300 dollars for the Hunter Supports East Harlem Fund.

That money will go to a not-for-profit affordable housing organization in East Harlem.
