The city on Wednesday marked 104 years since the deadly Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in Greenwich Village.
The fire broke out on March 25, 1911, and killed 146 workers.
Most of the victims were young women who couldn't get out due to locked exits and inadequate fire escapes.
The tragedy led to reforms in working conditions and labor rights across the country.
