Police are looking for the person they say robbed a Manhattan store after attempting to steal from another.

Police say on February 22, the man walked into a store on Columbus Avenue between 93rd and 94th Street, pulled out a gun and demanded cash.

They say a customer walked in and startled the robber. He then ran away without any money.

On the following day, police say the man walked in a Europan location on 78th Street and Broadway.

Investigators say he distracted the employee by ordering food. He then walked behind the counter, stole cash and escaped.

The employee tried to follow the man, but ran back to the store when he took out a gun.

Police describe the man as 20 to 25 years old, about 5-foot-7 and 140 to 170 pounds.
