Opponents of an expansion plan at NYU have another chance to express their concerns and potentially stop it.

The New York State Court of Appeals agreed to hear the case regarding the school's $6 billion expansion plan in Greenwich Village.

Opponents say the plan will affect parks and open spaces if additional academic and housing buildings in the neighborhood are built.

An NYU spokesman says they're optimistic and expecting another positive outcome when the Court of Appeals makes their decision.

This comes after a lower court gave the university's plan the green light.

The plan was also approved by the City Council in a 44-to-1 decision.
