Students at St. John's University are getting millions of dollars in financial relief.

The school is freezing tuition fees and dorm costs for all current and incoming students for the 2015-2016 academic year.

University officials say it will save the entire student body about $14 million.

The freeze applies to all graduate and undergraduate students at the Queens, Manhattan and Oakdale campuses.

Students studying abroad through the university's international locations will also benefit.

It does not apply to the university's law school.

Students say the freeze will help them plan their future.

"For me, this tuition freeze is an opportunity to get a jump start on early savings for the rest of my years here," said Emily Penders, a freshman at St. John's University.

"We recognize that as a Catholic, private institution, perhaps more than others, we have a responsibility to proceed in this matter," said Dr. Robert Mangione, provost at St. John's University. "It's all about helping our students."

The tuition freeze begins in May for the 2015 pre-summer session.
