We are just at the start of a stretch of days where temperatures will remain below the freezing mark. The last time temperatures were above freezing was before 7 p.m. on Christmas Day. This streak will go on for days and could end up in the top five longest streaks of below-freezing temperatures on record.

With that said, it will be another frigid night Thursday with mainly clear skies. Temperatures will fall to the low teens with wind chills once again around zero.

Tomorrow will feel better, but make no mistake, it will still be very cold. Highs will be around 22 but with less wind. Our wind chills wll be in the teens.

We expect a quick-moving system to bring snow on Saturday. Right now, it looks to drop about an inch of snow. As that system pulls away, it will become windy again on New Year's Eve. That will put wind chills back to near zero as the ball drops.
