A Frankfort man is facing charges after driving on Interstate 88 while displaying a weapon with a child in the car.

New York State Troopers got a call Sunday about a man driving recklessly westbound on I-88 in Bainbridge with a handgun in view of other drivers.

Richard Viti Jr., 35, of Frankfort was pulled over without incident by State Troopers in Waverly. They determined the handgun was instead an air-soft gun. They also found Viti’s young child in the car with him.

Viti is facing charges of second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.
