BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Jury selection in the trial for the accused Mexican drug lord "El Chapo" begins Monday in Brooklyn.

Joaquin Guzman is accused of laundering billions of dollars through his alleged drug cartel, and overseeing a campaign of brutal murders and kidnappings.

He was extradited to the U.S. last year.

During the trial there will be increased security, including patrols by heavily armed federal agents.

And for further protection- the jurors names will be withheld from the public.

Guzman faces life in prison, if convicted.
