Two women are lucky to be alive after an awning collapsed on them in Brooklyn.

Surveillance video captured the moment that the sign came down on the women Monday afternoon.

It happened at 94th Street and 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge.

Other pedestrians could be seen running over to help lift the awning off the women.

Amazingly, the women only suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Buildings Department is still trying to figure out what caused the awning to fall.

Inspectors issued a full vacate order for the building, and issued violations to the building's owner.

The owner was also ordered to put up a sidewalk shed to protect pedestrians.
