Leaders at the Brooklyn Library want to make sure kids keep up their reading even while school is out for the summer.

Its branches will feature fun, book displays as part of its summer reading program. The displays are designed to encourage kids to pick up a book and explore the world inside. They're colorful, interactive, and stimulating.

Students can also take part in reading challenges for a chance to win prizes as an extra incentive. This year, the theme is "Books and Beats" which has a focus on music education.

"Children, if they don't read over the summer, their reading level tends to deteriorate. So it's really important that they read over the summer and that they read what they enjoy. Cause that's what's going to motivate them to keep reading," said Children's Librarian, Kathy Gerber.

Students can also vote for their favorite book display here. Voting closes on June 24th.
