A city run program is connecting seniors and children.

The 'Foster a Grandparent' program has been running for 30 years.

The city's Department of Aging connects seniors with different early childhood education programs.

It offers seniors an opportunity to contribute to their communities and providing kids with extra love and support.

Juanita Fernandez has been a volunteer with the program for almost fifteen years.

"It is good to get out of the house. And playing with the kids, that is a plus. They make you feel good and they remind me of my kids," said Fernandez.

Fernandez already has 7 grandkids of her own, but now that they are all grown up she says this group of children helps keep her young.
