After a long chilly winter, New Yorkers were particularly excited about the spring weather Saturday, as  temperatures broke into the 70s. They made sure to soak it in before a temperature whiplash in the evening.

"Amazing and super lucky that we chose an amazing day to do this," said a new bride who took photos in DUMBO for her wedding day.

"We got a summer day in April, it's kind of spectacular. We were hoping for not rain, and we got this," her husband said. "So it's pretty amazing."

An increase in clouds is possible towards evening, and some areas could see a brief sprinkle.

But some people called the weather a tease, as colder air will make its way into the region Saturday night. Skies will become mostly cloudy, and a shower or two is possible. Lows will be around 43 degrees.

The clouds and showers are projected to stay in place for Sunday, with an afternoon high of just 44 degrees. Expect it to windy as well, making for wind chills around the freezing mark.

Conditions are forecast to turn milder again during the upcoming week. Afternoon highs will make their way into the upper 50s and low 60s.

Some heavy rain and possibly a few thunderstorms are likely on Monday, but Tuesday and Wednesday are looking much drier.

But many city parks and landscapes were filled with people trying to make the most of the first warm days of spring.

People were out playing soccer, walking along the waterfront, and getting in a quick jog under the Brooklyn Bridge.

It was the second day in a row that the city saw temperatures of at least 70 degrees — a far cry from a winter and spring that so far has given us wind chills below -10 degrees, four nor'easters in a month, thundersnow, and a snowstorm on the first Monday of April.
