Police are looking for the masked gunman who shot an employee at a Brooklyn smoke shop during a robbery Wednesday night.

Investigators say the man shot the 40-year-old worker in the stomach and made off with some cash.

It all happened at Moe's Smoke Shop located at 7123 Fifth Avenue in Bay Ridge shortly before midnight.

Police say the shooter was wearing a ski mask.

Neighbors say there has been an increase in crime in the area.

"There was a robbery here and then last week, there was a robbery at the jewelry store. So things that used to feel safe in your neighborhood, you don't feel safe anymore. It's very concerning, especially with kids, it's concerning for the children," said one neighborhood resident.

"It's kids coming and going at night. There's monkey business. There's a big problem with drugs on the avenue here at night," said another resident.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
