A worker was killed after sources say he was crushed by an "illegally created hoisting machine" while working in Brooklyn.

Sources say the worker was crushed when the hoisting machine fell on top of him just before noon Monday while working at 1887 Nostrand Avenue in East Flatbush.

He was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital, according to the NYPD.

The worker who died has not been identified, but police say he was 62 years old.

Sources tell NY1 the machine was illegally rigged together out of materials the workers found at the site and did not have proper safeguards.
