On Thursday the NYPD released new body camera footage captured by two police officers involved in a shooting.

The officers were responding to a call about a man with a knife in The Bronx on January 29.

You can hear the intensity of the exchange between 52-year-old Michael Hansford and those police officers — the officers yelling "drop the knife" repeatedly during that faceoff.

And you can hear Hansford respond by saying, what sounds like, "shoot me."

The recording ends after police open fire and Hansford falls to the ground.

This happened on Propsect Avenue near East 181st street in the Bronx.

Police responded to a 911 call and found Hansford chasing his landlord around in the street — allegedly armed with a combat style knife.

The two men were involved in a dispute that turned violent.

Police released a picture of the combat style knife they say Hansford was using as a weapon.

He was rushed to the hospital after the shooting and pronounced dead.
