MONTREAT, N.C. -- People in Montreat continue to mourn Rev. Billy Graham’s passing, saying he had a large impact on their small community and it was a privilege to know the pastor.

Billy Graham and his wife, Ruth, did a lot for Montreat in six decades including building the Bell Library.

They were married in what is now Graham Chapel and they raised money for the college.

However, no matter how much he did, those there say he was always humble and they'll never forget him.

"It's very hard. You prepare for it but you don't know what it’s like until it happens. We have lost a great human being and we can't say that every day,” said President of Montreat College Paul Maurer.

Montreat is now asking if anyone has flowers or would like to set up a memorial for Billy Graham to please bring them to the Graham Training Center.
