ZURICH – Switzerland is banning what was once a popular way to cook lobsters.

The Swiss have now banned cooking live lobsters in boiling water.The changes come from studies that suggest lobsters might feel pain. Chefs will now have to knock the lobster out or kill it before boiling it starting in March.

The new law also makes it illegal to ship live lobsters on ice.

There is no information if the law also applies to the crustacean more common around here: the crawfish.
