People were eager to get into the casino for day one at Resorts World Catskills on Thursday.

The Las Vegas-style gaming casino is exciting to locals looking for a big gaming atmosphere in a small town. Many have anticipated the opening and came from outside the Hudson Valley to be on hand.

The new 18-story hotel, casino and entertainment complex sits in Sullivan County. The casino floor boasts 150 live gaming tables, more than 2,100 slot machines, a poker room and private gaming rooms. And one woman drove more than six hours to be there for the opening.

"I love to go to casinos," said Massachusetts resident Kim Moss. "I love to gamble, but it was exciting to see this place. I watched it online, saw how it was built and how they were doing it. First grand opening I've ever been to."
