TEXAS – Staff at the Texas State Aquarium released more than 200 green sea turtles back into the wild.

These are the same turtles that were stunned by the recent cold weather last week.

Drastically dropping temperatures in early January brought snow to Texas and cold-stunned the turtles. Low temperatures incapacitate turtles causing them to float to the surface.

However, the turtles made a quick recovery as temperatures continue to warm up.

Aquarium staff said the rescue team worked hard to make sure the turtles got back to their natural habitat as soon as possible.
