We will start out with chilly weather through Tuesday before a cold front approaches from the west into Wednesday.

That front will bring snow to the Charlotte metro area and mountains late Tuesday night and ending before noon on Wednesday.

Expect light to at times some brief moderate snow for the early morning hours into rush hour Wednesday morning.

Forecast snowfall amounts will range from around 1 inch or less in the Piedmont to nearly 3 inches in the mountains.

The sky will clear by Wednesday afternoon, but it will be very cold Thursday morning in the storm's wake.

Look for a big weekend warm-up with 50s and 60s returning to the picture.
