DURHAM -- The woman who was at the center of the Duke Lacrosse Case wants a new trial in her second-degree murder conviction.

Crystal Mangum filed a complaint yesterday, claiming malicious prosecution by the Durham Police Department and the district attorney's office.

She was sentenced to up to 18 years in prison after being convicted of killing Reginald Daye, and is expected to be released in 2026.

Mangum gained national attention after she accuse a of group of Duke University lacrosse players of raping her at an off-campus team party in 2006.

Charges were dropped in that case.
