If you're one of the millions of Americans hitting the road this holiday season, experts have a few tips just for you on how to avoid becoming stranded during holiday travel.

One body shop owner says you should check your tires before going on a long trip and also check your oil because it can get thicker in the winter time.

Also, make sure you have enough antifreeze if you're heading somewhere with freezing temperatures in the forecast.

Ronnie Bridges, the owner of Oak Hollow Tire in High Point said, "with just our little snow a few weeks ago, we had probably 15 or 20 vehicles where they've slid into curbs and everything, and most of the ones that came in with problems, if they had good tires on their cars, they would not have had a problem."

AAA predicts 107 million Americans will be traveling by car, plane or train between Dec. 23 and Jan. 1.
