Many consider them everyday heroes but some police officers in Brooklyn grabbed their masks and capes to spread holiday cheer to sick kids.

Police officers dressed as Superman, Thor and more while they visited kids at the Bishop Orris G. Walker, Junior Health Care Center Thursday.

The kids are patients in the Center’s sickle cell unit.

Each one of them got a gift and the chance to take a picture with their favorite superhero.

"I know it can be a hard time sometimes but Christmas is about spreading the joy so that's what we're here for," said Rafael Korycki.

The officers also stopped by three other care centers and at the family home of someone assaulted in June.
