Authorities say a reckless driver in Brooklyn sent two police officers to the hospital Saturday morning.

Officers were responding to an emergency when authorities say a 62-year-old man driving a Chevy Trailblazer ran a stop sign and hit the driver's side of the police car.

It happened around 11:20 a.m. Saturday near Hemlock Street and Ridgewood Avenue in Cypress Hills.

The NYPD says the driver and two officers were brought to Jamaica Hospital with minor injuries.

"I heard a big boom from my window, and then I came running downstairs, and all I saw was the car here pulled over and the cops over there," a witness said. "I saw from the corner right here one of them was laying on the floor."

Police say the driver did not appear to be under the influence.

They say he most likely will receive a summons for running the stop sign.
