The Brooklyn Nets took a time out Monday to salute the military.

In a role reversal, players Spencer Dinwiddie, Quincy Acy, and Trevor Booker served as coaches and referees during a game with active military members and veterans at Fort Hamilton.

Before tipping off, the team took a moment to honor those who serve in the military.

"The players are always seen upon as the superstars, the role models, but the veterans and the military men and women are actually the heroes and superstars in real life," said Michael Wisniewski of the Nets.

The team will host a "Hoops for Troops" game against the Boston Celtics Tuesday Night to honor veterans and military men and women who will be on hand for the game at the Barclays Center.
