The beach and boardwalk aren't the only things you'll love at Coney Island.

The Chapman Youth library at the YMCA is putting reading on the map there as well.

It's a new chapter for the neighborhood hit hard by Sandy.

Nearly five years later, developers have finally put the finishing touches on a new place for kids to indulge their literary tastes.

Organizers say they couldn't have done it without a little help from a neighbor in the borough.

"It all came together, and the Brooklyn Public Library helped us curate age-appropriate, progressive books for kids to advance their reading skills," said YMCA of Greater New York Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer Gary Laermer.

"The Chapman Library Youth Library has an opportunity to expand all the many things that we do each and every day, so this is a great thing for the YMCa and all of its supporters and partners," said Coney Island YMCA Executive Director Sam Moore.

The Coney Island YMCA is open from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.
