Police are hoping some new information helps identify a dismembered body found washed up in the Gowanus Bay in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning.
Investigators now say the tattoo, seen above, in Sanskrit lettering means either Lily or Lillian.
It was found on the torso of a badly decomposed woman around 11:21 a.m. off the coast of Red Hook.
The city medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death.
