Police in Brooklyn shot a man who allegedly drove his vehicle towards a police officer after speeding away from officers.

It happened just before 9 a.m. Tuesday near Vernon Avenue between Tompkins and Marcy Avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Police say they were looking for 36-year-old Javon Shipman when they spotted him inside his parked car.

There was a warrant for his arrest in connection with a felony assault charge.
