Coney Island's Luna Park and Deno's Wonder Wheel Park opened for the season Friday.

The first rides started running at noon.

A special ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, featuring the traditional egg cream christening of the famous Cyclone rollercoaster.

The iconic ride was refurbished during the off-season.

The first 100 guests are slated get to ride the coaster for free.

The Wonder Wheel is celebrating its 96th anniversary this year.

The first 96 people on line for the wheel Saturday are slated to ride for free.

Luna Park was originally slated to open last week, but that was postponed because of the weather.

Both parks will be open on weekends through Memorial Day.
