A 41-year-old man is dead after being shot in Brooklyn.

Police say the victim was found with gunshot wounds to his chest in Crown Heights.

It happened on Sterling Place near Classon Avenue a little before 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

A man nearby at the time of the shooting described what he heard.

"Three sequential shots fired, pretty loud. They were right across the street so you could hear them, pretty abrupt. I used to live in Harlem, so gunshots are pretty familiar."

They say the man was taken to Methodist hospital and pronounced dead.

An investigation is underway.
