Two City Council members were among those arrested Wednesday at a protest in support of striking car wash workers in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Democrats Brad Lander and Carlos Menchaca were both led away in handcuffs after joining other demonstrators in sitting down on the street.

Workers from Vegas Auto Spa in Park Slope are on strike, accusing the company of wage theft and blocking workers efforts to unionize.

Other labor groups came out in a show of solidarity, and say they support the City Council members in their acts of civil disobedience.

"The arrests are a great way of calling attention to wage theft and other wage issues," said one rally attendee.

"There's a lot of unfair wage practices going on, a lot of wage theft going on, we're here in solidarity with them, the car wash heroes," said another rally attendee.

Workers have been on strike since November.

They have filed a law suit accusing Vegas Auto Spa of paying less than minimum wage, and having workers putting in 90-hour weeks without overtime.
