There's a chance the Coney Island boardwalk might stay wooden after all.

According to the Daily News, the city Landmarks Preservation Commission may review a bid to keep the wood in the boardwalk, rather than replace it with cement.

This comes a few months after the panel rejected a petition by City Councilman Mark Treyger to designate the boardwalk as a historic site.

That designation would prevent the boardwalk from being changed to cement.

City park officials say there are sturdier and cheaper options for the boardwalk than wood.
