Dozens of mourners gathered in Israel Monday as the seven children who died in a Brooklyn house fire over the weekend were laid to rest.

Loved ones were joined by the country's chief rabbi at a memorial service in Jerusalem.

The bodies of the children, ranging in age from 5 to 16 were wrapped in shrouds, and displayed on stretchers for the emotional service.

The Sassoon children are now being buried at Jerusalem's main cemetery.

Their bodies were flown to Ben Guerion Airport in Israel overnight, and whisked away to Jerusalem in a convoy escorted by police.

On Sunday, a candlelight vigil was held in their memory outside of their now destroyed home.

Earlier in the day, thousands turned out in Borough Park to remember the three girls and four boys who died.

Their father Gabriel spoke through tears as he remembered each child.

Sassoon was away at a conference when the fire engulfed his home early Saturday morning.

Investigators blame a malfunctioning hot plate for starting the flames.

Many observant Jews use hot plates to keep food warm for the Sabbath.

The children's mother and another sister escaped the fire by jumping out a window.

They remain in critical condition.
